1949 Marx, Deluxe Mot-O-Run 4 Lane Hi-Way in Original Box
Incredible unused store stock; 60+ year old toy never played with! Electrically operated lithographed steel motorway with five different tin lithographed vehicles. Includes original box, separate unopened vehicle box, insert, instructions, and factory sealed pylon discs. All in pristine unused mint condition! Operation is similar to other early post-war electric vibrational sports toys. Plug it in and it starts to vibrate loudly. The amount of vibration is controlled by turning a set screw located near on the motor. Vehicles are placed on the track and they simply move forward by vibration. They pass around, or through tunnels on either end. Swing-out metal “detours†extend lap time. Tunnels can be removed and replaced with metal discs (present in factory sealed bag). This represents the non-Deluxe version of the toy. Five tin litho vehicles never removed from their original cellophane window box. Includes auto, 2 stake trucks, bakery truck, and bus. Full color box features a perspective illustration of the actual toy with large red advertising bubble. Behind this are alternating yellow and gray diagonal stripes. “Assured Safety†testing by Underwriters Laboratory printed in lower right corner. Includes complete corrugated cardboard box bottom and perimeter insert. Also includes “read instructions carefully†sheet plus a separate “special instructions†sheet. Size: 27†x 8½†x 2â€.
